Everybody was excited for Trek to begin as we gathered to hear our trail boss, DJ Williams, remind everybody "not to complain" once the going gets tough.
We boarded five buses and began the two-hour drive to Mosida near the southwestern corner of Utah Lake.
Julie and I were on the last bus. Our driver was extra careful and took up the caboose position.
One of the service missionaries welcomed us to the Mosida Hardcart Site.
Two handcart companies, the Martin and Willey groups, suffered greatly on the plains, starting too late in the summer and getting caught on the plains by early snowstorms.
